Girl Scouts and Brownies

St. Mary’s has several Girl Scout Troops in many grades. A few of our leaders and co-leaders include:

Stephanie Laude- 1st grade Daisies
Kara Urbankek- K, 2nd & 3rd grade Brownies
Emily Briseno & Cheryl Crnokrak- 6th, 7th, & 8th grade Cadettes

Fundraisers for our troops include our Fall Fundraiser, which runs through the month of October and includes nuts, candy and magazines. Girl Scout Cookie sales, from January to April, offer a variety of cookies for everyone to enjoy, from Gluten-free to the same old favorites. New cookie this year is S’mores!! With these fundraisers a portion of the proceeds goes directly back to the Girl Scout troops, which may help with funding activities or go towards donating to a special cause.

Our troops are involved with the community they live in. We work at supporting many causes from animal shelters, retirement communities, and a variety of food and clothing drives to help those in need. We also lead the girls to be leaders themselves. As Scouts get older, they are to start leading their troops, with guidance from us leaders. We also aim to instill the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Preparing activities and being involved in the community help to achieve this goal.
