On a beautiful Friday morning, students from St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point embraced a cherished tradition by participating in the school’s annual Ride Your Bike to School Day.
Gathering at the Lake County Fairgrounds, students rode their bikes together for one mile to the school campus, celebrating a tradition that began 18 years ago under the leadership of longtime principal Mr. Ruiz. The event, which blends fun with fitness, has become a symbol of school spirit and community connection.
“This fun and healthy event promotes exercise, safety, and community spirit,” said Assistant Principal Bea Kozlowski. “It’s something our students truly look forward to each year.”
St. Mary’s extends its sincere gratitude to Crown Point Emergency Management Director Mike Wysocki and his dedicated team, along with the many supportive parents who volunteered their time to ensure a safe and smooth ride for all participants.
The event was a resounding success, leaving students energized and already counting down the days until next year’s ride.
