Altar Servers Trained and Retrained after 15Month Layoff at St. Mary’s in Crown Point

Saint Mary Catholic Church’s Altar Servers missed over 15 months of serving at the altar due to the Covid 19. Before scheduling them for upcoming Masses Sister Joanne Marie has been busy meeting with them to “review” what they already know and to tweak some new procedures. Over 38 servers went through a forty minute review.

The church also has over 30 NEW altar servers that are being trained by Sister. She practices with them so that they feel confident at the altar, prayerful and actively participating in the Eucharist. “I am so touched by the enthusiasm of our youth and their eagerness to serve! It is a great joy for me to be involved in this ministry! Our Faith Formation parishioners have also volunteered. It is a great way to get to know more students in our parish family!” said Sister Joanne Marie.
