On Wednesday September 28th, St. Mary School in Crown Point’s Environmental Club did some roadside cleaning! The club has been a part of Indiana’s Adopt a Highway Program for approximately 10 years. Club members went up and down Highway 231 (Joliet St. ) east and west of St. Mary’s church and school. Students and sponsors and even the pastor, Father Kevin Huber, collected about 4 bags of garbage that included candy wrappers, old yard sale signs, papers, car parts, and even some baseball cards. The group was enthusiastic about being good stewards of the earth and had a great time helping out the community.
Tyler Nedohon finds a piece of trash to be added to the bag.
St. Mary’s student in grades 3-8 are invited to join the school’s Environmental Club.
