Father Kevin Huber blessed St. Mary’s playground prior to the students testing it out.
St. Mary Catholic Community School’s campus was filled with joy and excitement on Friday, September 15th. St. Mary’s students anxiously waited for the first opportunity to play on their brand-new playground. On the beautiful sunny morning, second grade and third grade students surrounded the perimeter of the playground for a ribbon cutting and a blessing done by St. Mary’s Pastor, Father Kevin Huber.
This project has been in the works for over a year. It was kept top secret for a long period of time. Assistant Principal, Mrs. Bea Kozlowski wrote a grant last summer in hopes of being able to provide the students with more fun and joy! Over the summer the school administration posted a groundbreaking photo that was able to hint for the new addition to the school.
Liam Kozlowski paused his climbing for a quick photo opportunity.
The monkey bars were a very popular feature on St. Mary’s new playground. Duke LaMere shows off his skills.
The first graders thoroughly enjoyed their first recess on St. Mary’s new playground.
The joy, laughs, and smiles made for such a beautiful and blessed Friday morning! Principal Tom Ruiz had this to say, “One of our 2nd graders came up and thanked me and told me this was the best day of her life! It made me happy that we were able to provide this new playground and we’re already looking forward to much bigger projects in the near future.”
