The Student Council Food Drive is an annual tradition at St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point. Efforts are currently underway to support work of St. Mary’s parish food pantry; God’s Groceries as well as Catholic Charities in Gary.
The Student Council Food Drive is an annual tradition at St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point. Efforts are currently underway to support work of St. Mary’s parish food pantry; God’s Groceries as well as Catholic Charities in Gary. With inflation levels at historically high levels, the need for supporting local food pantries is high. In addition to the traditional pajama day and ugly sweater day incentives, this year’s Student Council persuaded their music teacher, Mr. Tony Rossi, to help them to create a music video to get the word out.
They also recruited their social studies teacher, Mr. Brad Nieman, who plays the guitar, to help and the results were amazing! Click here to watch St. Mary’s Student Council’s Food Drive Video:

St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point offers grade levels Junior Pre-K (for three-year-olds) through grade eight. St. Mary’s faculty teaches a rich curriculum supported by cutting-edge technology. Faith, Academic Excellence, Life Lessons, and Compassion are the pillars of the school. Students in all grades are provided with opportunities to help others by way of service projects. St. Mary’s is currently accepting new students.
