St. Mary Students Celebrate Grandparents and Special Persons with Heartfelt Program

The students and staff of St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point recently celebrated their annual Grandparents and Special Persons Day with a heartwarming program honoring the important people in their lives.

Grandparents, special family members, and friends were treated to coffee and donuts, visits to classrooms, and a special musical program in the school gymnasium. St. Mary students shined brightly as they filled the gym with smiling faces, enthusiastic performances, and energetic songs.

Highlights of the celebration included a performance by the school's fourth- through eighth-grade choir, along with heartfelt essays and poems written by St. Mary's eighth graders. Students shared cherished memories of sleepovers, movie nights, family recipes, vacations, and other special moments spent with their loved ones. Perhaps most touching were the students' reflections on how their grandparents and special guests serve as spiritual role models, helping to shape their faith, values, and character. Their thoughtful words touched the hearts of those in attendance.

The program concluded with St. Mary music teacher Mr. Tony Rossi leading the students and audience in a joyful, schoolwide sing-along, followed by a prayer for peace.
