Sand, Sunshine, and Adventure! St. Mary’s Environmental Club Hits the Dunes!
CROWN POINT, IN – Adventure was in the air as members of the Environmental Club at St. Mary Catholic Community School recently embarked on an exciting field trip to Indiana Dunes State Park!
Students in grades 3 through 8 laced up their hiking shoes and tackled more than four miles of the park’s famous Trail 9, which winds through some of the largest and tallest sand dunes in the area. The young adventurers enthusiastically embraced the challenge of climbing steep, sandy hills, but they quickly discovered that running back down was even more fun!
With picture-perfect weather, breathtaking views of Lake Michigan, and plenty of fresh air and exercise, the students enjoyed an unforgettable outdoor experience. The combination of adventure, teamwork, and an appreciation for nature made this field trip one to remember!
