Isabella Gonzalez, an 8th-grade student at St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point, recently had the honor of representing both her school and the United States at an international swimming competition held in Puerto Rico. Despite being one of the youngest competitors, Isabella delivered an outstanding performance—finishing second in her age group (14 and under) and placing 20th overall.
The competition drew athletes not only from Puerto Rico but also from countries including Canada, Panama, Costa Rica, the United States, Israel, South Africa, the Philippines, Slovakia, and many others. This global stage provided Isabella with a valuable learning experience and has opened the door to potential opportunities with the National Team in the future.
